The University of Twente Scholarship Application Deadline
The application deadline for the University of Twente Scholarship 2027 is April 1, 2027 at 16:00 CET.
The scholarship application form opens on October 15, 2026 at 09:00 CET for master’s programs starting in September 2027.
Applicants should apply for admission to a master’s program early because it may take up to 8 weeks to receive the result of the admission application.
Scholarship Coverage
The University of Twente Scholarship provides the recipient with:
- € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year.
- In the case of a two-year study program, students can receive an additional UTS in an amount equal to that in the first year to cover the expenses of the second year. However, the scholarship will only be continued during the second year when students meet the process requirements for the UTS.
- You must have obtained:
- An average grade of 7 (out of 10) at the end of the third quarter of the first year
- At least 50% of European Credits at the end of the third quarter of the first year
The Kipaji Scholarship
University of Twente Scholarship recipients may also be eligible for an additional scholarship.
For programs starting in September 2027, UTS recipients can be considered for the Kipaji Scholarship if they meet its additional requirements.

The Professor de Winter Scholarship
This scholarship is only available to excellent female students who received a UTS scholarship for the same academic year.

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Twente Scholarship
To qualify for the University of Twente Scholarship (UTS), you must fulfill the following requirements:
- Applicants must be from a non-EU/EEA country.
- Applicants must apply for a qualifying master’s program at the University of Twente.
- Applicants must receive a conditional or provisional admission letter for a UT master’s program starting in the academic year 2027/2028.
- Applicants must have a student number.
- Applicants must not have graduated from a University of Twente undergraduate or graduate program.
- Applicants must comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands, if applicable.
- Applicants must meet the English language requirement.
- Applicants must not be eligible for a Dutch study loan.
